Welcome Back 2024-2025!
Dear Parent/Guardian:
Welcome back to the 2024-25 school year. We hope you’ve had a wonderful summer and are feeling refreshed and excited to dive into another year of learning, growth and new opportunities.
As you step into this academic year, we want to highlight some key Tenafly High School policies:
● All students are required to use school-issued Chromebooks for all instruction. Students are responsible for any damages incurred to their assigned Chromebook.
● All attendance matters will be handled through the Genesis Parent Portal. This change is designed to enhance convenience, accuracy, and transparency in the attendance process for both students and parents/guardians. For more information click here for the THS FAQ
● All students will enter through the Main Door in front of the building or the “Senior Door” by the swim club lot.
● All students are required to wear their student ID cards on school-provided lanyards in order to enter the building.
● In the interest of security, there will be no parent/guardian drop-offs accepted, this includes lanyards/school IDs.
Please take a few minutes and visit the district website at http://www.tenaflyschools.org. Under Parent Resources sign-up and/or review the following information:
● Blackboard Alert and Notifications: to receive important school announcements including school closings.
○ Only sign up for the Genesis Portal if you are new to the district. Remember that the Genesis Parent Portal is for parents/guardians only. Your child should NOT have access to your portal.
○ Keep your contact information up to date to ensure you receive important school updates and notifications.
○ Log in to the Genesis Parent Portal on a computer (not a cellphone) to complete the necessary permissions for your student. These forms will be available August 16th at 9 am. and are available under the “Forms” tab. You are required to complete the parent permissions to view your student’s schedule. Do this in anticipation of the scheduled release.
○ On August 23rd at 3:00 P.M., student class schedules will be released on the portal. Once you have your student’s schedule, you can look up the class syllabus on the teacher’s webpage for materials needed. If a schedule is missing a course or an incorrect course is listed, students must fill out the Schedule Error Form. Once the form is completed, the counselor will review. All schedule changes must be completed online.
● THS Student Handbook: The Tiger Q student handbook is located under the Important Documents tab. This comprehensive guide contains all the essential information you need to navigate high school effectively and make most of your educational journey.
● THS Program of Studies: It can also be accessed through the Important Documents tab.
● Health Office: It is located on the Parents tab at the top of the homepage. It is extremely important to ensure that the medical forms remain current. Please contact the Health Office if you have any questions or concerns.
