Senior Scholarships

Senior Scholarships & Awards Application 

2025

Completed applications are due by Friday, April 11, 2025 by 3pm. No applications will be accepted after this date. Unless otherwise noted, click on the link (scholarship name) to submit an application for each scholarship for which you wish to apply. The Scholarship Committee or donor organization will review all responses.  You will receive a  notification by May 16 if you are a recipient of one of our awards.  If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Mrs. Castelli in the Vice Principal's Office. The Senior Scholarship and Awards Program will take place in the Collins & Tall Auditorium on Tuesday, June 3rd at 7 pm. 

Bergen County Directors of Guidance

Awarded to a student who has proved exemplary service to the school and community.

Chief Nicodemous Amicucci Memorial Scholarship

Awarded to a student interested in a community service related major, as  Mr. Amicucci was a police science instructor and retired Chief of Police in Tenafly.

Gordon Wallace & Lewis Brown Memorial Award

The Gordon Wallace & Lewis Brown Memorial Award is a distinguished scholarship opportunity presented annually to two exceptional citizen-scholars who exemplify dedication and passion for the social sciences as well as a commitment to community service. Recipients will be selected based on their academic achievements, involvement in extracurricular activities, and commitment to community service..

Grace & Love Church Scholarship

Awarded to a student with a strong will who does not easily lose their courage, is considerate of others, and works hard to achieve their goals even in difficult times.

Henry and Alice Redfield Award

Awarded to a student for demonstration of character and determination in the face of a hardship or other significant problem while successfully completing their course of studies.

J & H Foundation Scholarship

Presented to three students who have demonstrated resilience and character in the face of challenges.  The recipients of this award have shown a commitment to personal improvement and an ability to turn setbacks into opportunities for growth.

Kathryn Anne Lanz Memorial Scholarship

Awarded to a student who plans to pursue a career in the field of literature and/or journalism or who wishes to teach in those fields.  The student possesses leadership qualities, is involved in community service, and has a love of reading and writing. Please provide the following:

*A list of English/Language Arts courses you have taken as part of your high school program;

*Briefly describe the nature and extent of your co-and extracurricular involvement in the general area of writing (i.e. school literary magazine, newspaper, etc.)

*Include a piece of original writing that you are proud of and which reflects your ability as a writer.

Korean Parents Association Scholarship

Demonstration of a strong passion for embracing and sharing Korean cultural heritage and a commitment to academic achievement.  A 300-500 word essay on the provided topic, a list of extracurricular activities, as well as any awards and acknowledgements (with descriptions if needed), an academic transcript showing a minimum GPA of 3.2, a recommendation letter from one subject teacher, and proof of enrollment in a U.S. accredited college or university in the Fall 2025 must be submitted.

Maria Vojack Smith Memorial Scholarship

Awarded to a former Maugham School student who is interested in pursuing a service-minded profession

Sydelle, Jules & Scott Lichtman Technology Achievement Scholarship

Awarded to a student for excellence in STEM studies, including grades in STEM classes, with attention to the completion of any practical STEM project that had impacted applications for the Tenafly school system or other societal group in need.

Tenafly Administrators and Supervisors Association

Awarded to a college-bound senior who has demonstrated outstanding leadership, service and character.

Tenafly Education Association Scholarship

Awarded to a student or students planning to become a teacher and have the potential to be outstanding in their chosen career.  Candidates must submit a 500-word essay on why they are interested in a teaching career.

Tenafly Educational Foundation Karen Sperling Greene Memorial Scholarship for Volunteering

Awarded to a student who has given significant personal time volunteering with a Tenafly-based non-profit organization that serves the Tenafly community and/or Tenafly public schools.  Preference will be given to TEF Club leadership, TEF student reps and TEF 5k volunteers.

Tenafly PBA #376 Memorial Scholarship

Awarded to a student/s who exhibits good character and service to the community.

Tenafly Rotary Club/Jean Wold Humanitarian Scholarship

Awarded to a student from Tenafly or Alpine who has demonstrated scholarship, character, and involvement in service to the Tenafly community.  Community service is the primary criteria.

Thomas J. Elefante Memorial Scholarship

Awarded to a student who has a passion for science and the outdoors or nature in addition to scholastic achievement in the area of science. The recipient has expressed an interest in pursuing the study of science at the post-secondary level.

*Submit an essay to Mrs. Castelli at jcastelli@tenafly.k12.nj.us  describing your passion, what you plan on studying in college, and how your passion may direct your career aspirations.

Awarded to a student who has demonstrated outstanding support of school activities while also maintaining excellent academic records.
